ALL ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!

CLASSICAL HONORS CONCERT - THIS WEEKEND!
April 15th, 7:30pm in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square

MUSICAL THEATRE HONORS CONCERT
MAY 5th at 8pm at the Bountiful Davis Art Center, 90 N. Main Street, Bountiful.

Each year, for our Northern Utah chapter, professional voice teachers enter approximately 300 singers in our National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Auditions.

This audition process is for students in every age category:
* Jr High
* High School (Male and female grades 9, 10, 11, 12)
* College (Male and Female years1, 2, 3, 4)
* Advanced 1 (up to age 24, voice major)
* Advanced 2 (Age 25+, at least 6 years training)
* Adults Avocational 1 (Post High School - 24yrs of age - Non-Voice Major)
* Adults Avocational 2 (ages 25+ with less than 5 years of vocal study)
* Adults Avocational 3 (ages 25+ with more than 5 years of vocal study)
* Adults Avocational 4 (ages 50+ non-working professional, voice major or voice teacher.)

Students are judged within their own age/gender category, and within two divisions: Classical and Musical Theatre. The winners of each category win a small monetary award, and appear in the Honors Concert for their division. Which brings me round, why I am writing to you today:

This year Barrow Music Studio is proud to have entered six students into the event.
All did very well, and we are so thrilled and grateful for their judges comments and scores.

A special shout out to our two students who scored high enough to win and place in their events!

Staley Binks - 1st place, Musical Theatre Male, High School 1
Staley Binks - 1st place, Classical Division, High School 1
Lexi Parry - 2nd place, Classical Division, Jr. High Category

The winners of each division will be singing at the honors concerts, and everyone is invited to attend!

Our own Staley Binks will be performing at both concerts, and we hope you and your student/parent will come hear him and all the vocalists who will be performing.

If you are interested in participating in this event next year, please tell me right away. HS and older require foreign language for classical, and up to three songs for adults Musical Theatre. We have a lot of work ahead :).
