Welcome to our 2018/19 Studio Kick-off Party!
All students are invited to come to this FREE Studio Group Class.
Our studio group voice classes feature instruction on specific voice-related topics, a few/several of the singers will sing, and then some fun and games!
All of my students should now be aware that we had to say goodby to my dog, Buddy, last month...four days later we found out our studio cat Gomez, has terminal lymphoma. Sadly, a few of my students also said goodbye to their pets this year. It's been a healing time as we have shared many wonderful memories of animals who have touched our lives. Out of this, came a brilliant idea ... our first recital will feature songs about animals. Humor, fun, and love!
Then... I went a step further! (You all know me by now... I like to go BIG! LOL)
Our "Animal themed" recital will also be a benefit concert for the Best Friends Animal Shelter of Utah! YAY!!
I LOVE this organization for many reasons: They offer a pet food bank which benefits the elderly, the homeless and low income families. They can freely receive donated food for their pets so that the pets can stay in the home! Additionally, they accept blankets, toys at the shelter as well as financial donations to help with pet medical costs for pets of the elderly, low income and homeless.
As a fun "kick-off service project", during our Sept. 22nd Studio Group Class, one of my students, Zee Smith, will be helping us cut up old blankets and tie fleece blankets for the pet hospital and shelter! (Thanks, Zee!)
More information is coming on this charity, details on the what and how Barrow Music Studio will be collecting, and how the kids are preparing for the recital/benefit concert!
This is not to be a huge project for students and families to take on!! ... moreso for me, really LOL! But this is close to my heart, and our studio will be collecting through January, and again at the Recital! Afterward, we will do a big drop off after the recital. Everyone is invited to come participate in the big drop-off (and play with the kittens) but certainly not obligated in any way!
Have a fantastic weekend!
And STUDENTS.... I'll see you on the 22nd! WOOF!
